Strategic planning is used by business and organizations alike to plan for the long term. In this course, students will develop a strategic plan to improve the health for a defined population. This may be the people in your community or patients at your healthcare organization. Choice of population
The choice of the population that requires a health program is the children under 13 years of age in my community. The children in the neighborhood have been experiencing several cases of dental and oral health related problem. From the facility I am currently working, there have been over 30 monthly cases of an oral health problems involving children that has been reported. Most of these health cases have arisen out of sheer neglect oral hygiene such as brushing teeth daily, the types of foods eaten as well as general poor hygiene and sanitation practices. It will be important to train these children as preventive measures.
